Pomellato has launched ‘Collezione 1967’, a high jewellery collection of 75 pieces celebrating the brand’s design legacy.

Framed as a “jewellery manifesto”, the collection draws on three decades of the Milanese house’s history, from chain-focused 1970s design to the sculptural 1980s and the chromatic explorations of the 1990s.

Each piece is crafted by master artisans at Casa Pomellato in Milan, combining traditional goldsmithing with modern materials and forms.

Highlights include the ‘Blue Chain Cascade’, which pairs sinuous diamond-set chains with a 22.23-carat Ceylon sapphire, and the transformable ‘Precious Spring Ring’, designed to be worn as a belt, bracelet or pendant.

In the 1980s-inspired line, the ‘Asimmetrico Tanzanite’ necklace showcases a 55.96-carat irregular-cut tanzanite and took 700 hours to complete. The ‘Rivière Zigzag’ necklace appears in two versions, featuring rubellites or green tourmalines arranged asymmetrically.

The 1990s-themed ‘Lagoon Bavarole’ suite uses 47 irregular-cut green tourmalines, while the ‘Marvelous Griffe’ series includes 10 pairs of rose gold earrings with cabochon-cut gems, such as aquamarines, peridots and garnets.

The ‘Iconica Extreme’ parure includes a rose gold chain necklace and bracelet set with baguette and brilliant-cut diamonds, and a ring with a 12.27-carat emerald.

The collection’s emphasis on creative freedom, technical innovation and bold use of colour reflects Pomellato’s commitment to redefining luxury through contemporary design.

Giovanni Raspini has announced the launch of its new Summer 2025 collection, presented for the first time entirely in both sterling silver and gold-plated silver.

Summer 2025 comprises four collections, including Tubogas Croco, Daisy Light, Chains and Summer Earrings.

Tubogas Croco draws inspiration from the renowned tubular band with links joined without soldering. Giovanni Raspini’s interpretation is distinguished by the iconic crocodile texture, applied to cast inserts at the ends of the bracelets and as the central embellishment of the necklace.

The collection also features a band necklace (in both silver and gold-plated silver), three rigid open bangles, and one spiral bangle (all crafted in both silver and gold-plated silver).

Meanwhile, the Daisy Light collection features a floral daisy motif, created through lost-wax casting, and adorns the mini-rolo chain of the necklaces and bracelets, whilst becoming the central element in the ring and earrings.

Each flower petal undergoes a meticulous diamond-cutting process. The collection offers two necklaces, one bracelet, two earrings and one ring, all available in both burnished silver and gold-plated silver.

The Chains collection emerges from the aspiration to present a collection “captivating in its elegance, luminosity and volume”.

Giovanni Raspini has selected two “distinctive” and “lightweight” links: one oval with a hammered and twisted effect, the other also oval yet characterised by a smooth surface, alternating small and large links.

Each link design gives rise to a necklace and a bracelet in both silver and gold-plated silver, comprising a total of eight pieces.

Additionally, for the arrival of the new summer season, Giovanni Raspini has launched the Summer Earrings collection.

The Tuscan designer has primarily explored teardrop earrings featuring textures such as serpentine, crocodile, hammered and even floral patterns. The collection also includes hoop earrings in three dimensions, showcasing two different styles of interwoven decoration.

The collection is completed with three additional models, drawing inspiration from studs and points. In total, the Summer Earrings collection encompasses 12 models, crafted in both silver and gold-plated silver, yielding an array of 24 pieces.

Giovanni Raspini said: “To experiment and evolve whilst remaining faithful to ourselves and the strong stylistic identity that has always defined us is the true challenge of today.”

UK Total retail sales increased by 1.1% year on year in March, against a growth of 3.5% in March 2024, with gardening and DIY sales being boosted by good weather.

New data from the BRC and KPMG revealed that the increase was below the 3-month average growth of 1.6% and above the 12-month average growth of 0.6%.

In the five weeks to 5 April, food sales increased by 1.6% year on year in March, against a growth of 8.3% in March 2024. This was below the 3-month average growth of 2.3% and below the 12-month average growth of 2.2%.

Non-food sales also increased by 0.6% year on year in March, against a decline of 0.4% in March 2024. This was below the 3-month average growth of 1.1% and above the 12-month average decline of 0.8%.

In-store non-food sales decreased by 0.1% year on year in March, against a growth of 0.1% in March 2024, while online non-food sales increased by 1.8% year on year, against a decline of 1.4% the year prior.

Jewellery and beauty products sales were also boosted by Mother’s Day, but bigger ticket items like furniture remained weak.

The BRC noted that the current data distorts the year on year sales comparisons for the period due to the fact that Easter falls in April while last year it fell in March, resulting in an “artificially higher” April.

Helen Dickinson, chief executive of the BRC, said: “Despite a challenging global geopolitical landscape, the small increase in both food and non-food sales masked signs of underlying strengthening of demand given March 2025’s comparison with last year’s early Easter. Retailers are making final preparations for Easter, with food expected to be the big winner next month.

“Since the start of April, retailers have had to contend with £5bn of new government-imposed costs as a result of increases to the National Living Wage and National Insurance. This rises to £7bn when the new packaging tax comes into effect in October and will undoubtedly increase inflation later in the year and hold back critical investment in high streets across the country.”

She continued: “The government has ample opportunities to kick start that investment by ensuring that no shop pays more as part of their planned reforms to business rates and that the Employment Rights Bill doesn’t reduce the availability of entry level and part time jobs. Investment and growth are what the economy needs right now.”

Linda Ellett, UK head of consumer, retail and leisure, KPMG, added: “Amidst downbeat consumer confidence in the UK’s economic outlook, and many households facing rising costs, retail sales growth feels an achievement. But with non-food sales only climbing around 1% on average, competition means there are some retailers really struggling whilst others win, especially online. Retailers will be pushing for higher growth rates as we move toward summer and holiday season, particularly as they are now paying higher wage costs and facing volatility and potential impact on their supply chains due to global tariffs.”

Chaumet has announced the launch of its Bee de Chaumet collection, a dozen pieces with bees and honeycomb as flagship motifs.

The bee and honeycomb cell motifs combine to “infuse the design with a unique identity as well as a strong symbolic significance, like a hive harmoniously constructed over time”.

The pavé diamond bee graces a long necklace and a pair of yellow gold earrings distinguished with delicate tassels.

The piece is made up of a multitude of fine gold chains punctuated with gold and diamond honeycombs.

The bee is also featured on a ring with bevelled lines, spotlighted in pavé diamonds. On a necklace or as a delicate ear stud, it is more minimalistic, the abdomen and wings in smooth polished gold but the head set with a brilliant-cut diamond.

Inspired by the toi et moi motif, there is also an openwork bangle with a flexible opening that doesn’t impede the wrist.

The collection also includes a new parure in white gold comprising a necklace, bracelet, ring and pair of earrings. In mirror-polished white gold or diamond pavé, the honeycomb cells “follow one another to infinity”.

After the cuff and bib necklace, a new pair of High Jewellery earrings in rose and white gold has been added to the collection’s standout pieces. This includes mirror-polished gold, brilliant-cut diamonds in a closed setting and then suspended.

The Maison first looked at the honeycomb’s graphic form during the Art Deco period. In 2009, it brought the two motifs together for the first time in a single creation, heralding the beginnings of the collection which officially saw the light of day in 2011.
