London-based jewellery designer Lily Gabriella has entered an e-commerce partnership with luxury online retailer Farfetch, to bring an edit of its fine jewellery collections to the etailers’ global audience in over 190 countries.

The partnership will see a selection of Lily Gabriella’s rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and pendants from the designer’s signature Spira, Hex and Ouh Lala collections available on Farfetch.

Spira, Lily’s inaugural collection, is inspired by her “passion” for sculpture. Conceived as a single piece of looping gold with edges that never meet, the Spira collection has evolved to include semi and full-pavé diamond and coloured gemstone editions.

Meanwhile, Hex is Lily’s “unique” take on timeless classics, blending the elegance of Art Deco with a “modern flair”.

Inspired by the geometric patterns and opulent style of the early 20th Century, Hex uses the principles of optical illusion to create a “captivating interplay of shapes and gemstones”.

Lastly, the Ouh Lala collection serves as a nod to Gabriella’s French upbringing, with the stud earrings and necklaces spelling out the famous French phrase in yellow, rose, black and white gold variations.

Gabriella, founder of the eponymous brand, said “We are delighted to be expanding our e-commerce presence with Farfetch. Its audience of discerning consumers globally will complement the international nature of our London flagship clientele and allow us to reach a wider audience whilst maintaining the brand’s exclusivity.”

He will also continue to oversee the company’s retail excellence function, e-commerce, partner relations, merchandising, omnichannel network and omnichannel operations.

He initially joined Pandora as country manager for Italy in 2010. Since then, he took on additional responsibility to lead commercial operations across all Pandora’s markets in Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa before being promoted to chief of retail operations in 2023.

Lacik added: “As we continue to execute the next phase of our Phoenix strategy, we are consolidating responsibility for commercial operations and our clusters to set us up for further success.

Beaverbrooks’ fine jewellery and watch brand Loupe has launched its second boutique in Croydon London, which opened on Friday 12 January 2024.

Loupe is a thoughtfully curated concept by Beaverbrooks, the 105-year-old family-owned jewellers with 87 stores nationwide.

A project over five years in the making, with a total investment of more than £6m, Beaverbrooks said Loupe successfully transitioned from the Lyons brand with the opening of its flagship boutique in June 2022 at centre:mk in Milton Keynes.

The Lyons, now Loupe, team will remain the same and continue to deliver its service to Loupe’s new and existing clients.

The boutique, located in Centrale Shopping Centre, Croydon, is set across over 4,300 sq ft of retail space and will generate five jobs in the area.

It features a large, dedicated 900 sq ft showroom for watch brand, Rolex and an adjoining Rolex Authorised Service Centre, where clients can benefit from on-site watch adjustments and repairs.

The Rolex Authorised Service Centre features a bespoke client viewing area in the workshop, where clients can interact and observe the Rolex accredited watchmaker on-site.

The new Rolex showroom will sit alongside Loupe’s own collection of diamonds and contemporary fine jewellery, hand-selected by its “experienced” buying team, and distinguished by its own hallmark.

The collection showcases several “classic” and “modern” pieces, from diamond rings to fine jewellery, in its thoughtfully curated collections such as Spyra, Confidante and Asteria.

The new Croydon boutique also features a new extensive hosting area, including its own bar, feature lighting and “luxurious” Italian cotton, velvet and twill furnishings. It also boasts a secret room, ‘The Drum,’ which is completely private and allows clients to listen to their own playlist through its media wall.

Additionally, the boutique also houses brand new immersive showrooms for Swiss watch brand partners, Omega, Breitling and Tudor. Other jewellery brands that can be found in the boutique include Royal Asscher and Mikimoto.

Loupe will be the only stockist of Rolex, Omega, Breitling, Tudor, Royal Asscher and Mikimoto in Croydon.

Anna Blackburn, managing director at Beaverbrooks and Loupe who has spearheaded the development of the Loupe brand, said: “2024 will be a big year for Loupe, and we are thrilled to announce our expansion of the brand with the launch of our second Loupe boutique in Croydon and our luxury e-commerce proposition for online purchases.

“We are exceptionally proud to continue our partnership with iconic world-leading brand, Rolex in our second Loupe boutique, alongside our extensive offering of luxury Swiss watch brands including Omega, Breitling and Tudor.”

She added: “With the rising demand for personal, immersive retail experiences, Loupe brings a fresh approach to the luxury sector. Even the name itself – which signifies the magnifying glass used by jewellers and watchmakers – has been chosen to break conventions and be memorable. It represents the concept of looking through a portal into an exciting new world and magnifying craft and beauty, offering luxuriously delightful experiences for both new and existing clients.

“Our Loupe boutique in Milton Keynes has achieved great success since opening in June 2022 and we’re excited to see this success continue with our Croydon boutique and beyond.”

Furthermore, the retailer posted a profit before tax of £3.7m for the period which it stated will be reinvested back into the business.

The positive financials come following a programme of investment in physical stores and workshops.

The company invested in its showroom on Buchanan Street in Glasgow which opened Spring 2023.

It also invested in moving its Southampton showroom to a bigger space which opened late last year.

Over the coming year, Laings will progress the roll out of its programme of investment across all four cities in which it is based, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Southampton.

Plans include the opening of the new multi-floored flagship showroom in Rowan House, Glasgow, a new TAG Heuer mono-brand showroom in Edinburgh and the expansion and development of its George Street showroom into 2025.

Joe Walsh, CEO of Laings, said: “This has been the first year since 2020 that we have not felt any direct effects financially from the pandemic. As luxury jewellers, we continue to focus on the importance of a bricks and mortar presence for several reasons.

“Showrooms allow our clients to see and feel each individual piece, steeping themselves in the rich and traditional history and expertise of our business and that of our prestigious partners.

He added: “It is vital that we continue to invest for the future, making our physical assets as enticing and engaging as possible. Our online experience has also improved this year with our e-commerce team rebuilding and relaunching our website, transferring our luxury showroom offering to the ease of screens. This has allowed clients to make purchases online more easily when they cannot come to see us in store.

“This continues to be a very exciting period of growth for Laings and we are excited about what lies ahead for the coming year. Our turnover has continued to increase, which is a positive reflection of the decision we made to focus our investment in our showroom estate and client offering across the UK.”

Sheffield-based fine jewellery brand Jessica Flinn has launched its new Christmas Chocolate collection inspired by Yorkshire chocolate company Quality Street.

Katie Hurst, a Jessica Flinn team member, once lived on a street in Sheffield where residents annually decorate their houses to resemble Quality Street chocolates for charity during Christmas.

Quality Street shipped one ton of chocolates to the street’s residents, who could exchange them for food bank donations.

Drawing inspiration from the tradition, the team at Jessica Flinn Fine Jewellery created chocolate inspired ring designs through mock-ups and CAD models featuring “bright” colours and “unique” designs.

Additionally, Hurst, who joined the Jessica Flinn team in June 2023, regularly volunteers with the S6 foodbank and has arranged for the wider team to contribute to the much needed cause.

The team and wider community took the opportunity to leave anonymous donations in donation boxes provided in the Jessica Flinn offices, and six employees have volunteered at the S6 Foodbank.

More volunteering sessions will be arranged throughout 2024 to continue to support the community.

Hurst, e-commerce luxury sales consultant at Jessica Flinn, said: “The camaraderie and charity work while decorating our homes like Quality Streets left a lasting impression. Since my relocation, I’ve been seeking ways to bring the same fun, festive feeling in a new way. Working with the Jessica Flinn team, we put our heads together and came up with a fun idea – a Christmas jewellery collection with delectable chocolate inspirations.”

Jessica Flinn-Allen added: “Embracing our roots as a Sheffield-based business, we recognise the importance of standing alongside our local community, especially during times of need.”

Eponymous jewellery brand founder Hannah Martin has launched her new A Vanitas collection in collaboration with Guy Berryman, founder of Applied Art Forms.

A Vanitas is a collection of unisex, “heirloom-quality” jewellery inspired by the 17th-Century Dutch tradition of Vanitas paintings that “evoked the fleeting nature of life”.

In a combination of Martin’s “rebellious-meets-refined aesthetic” and Berryman’s “form-meets-function approach”, the range features stylised razor blade motifs and hand-carved pearl skulls.

The collection comprises 11 pieces rendered in 18 carat yellow gold and silver and is designed for all.

The Razor Wristband, inspired from the hospital ID-tag, is transformed into a “modern” heirloom in a narrow yellow gold bangle and a wider version in silver.

The razor blade motif is featured in a signature necklace presented in two sizes, in either yellow gold or silver, designed to be worn alone or layered.

The motif is also seen in two ring styles: the Razor Ring Taper in yellow gold; and the bolder Razor Ring Block in silver.

Additionally, two earrings in yellow gold are also included in the collection in the style of a safety pin: a smaller, “more minimal” option; and a larger, “more bold” creation which features a hand-engraved pearl skull, something that would regularly be found within the Vanitas paintings.

A Vanitas launched at Dover Street Market Tokyo on 3 November 2023, and is now available via the Hannah Martin London and Applied Art Forms e-commerce platforms.

The collection is set to arrive at Dover Street Market in London at the end of the month.

Martin said: “Both Berryman and I are united in the desire to create pieces with longevity in mind and A Vanitas is therefore a collection of clean, timeless, heirloom-quality jewellery that is full of emotion.”
