The Betts Group has partnered with Goldsmiths’ Fair, supporting the recipients of its 2025 Emerging Business Bursary programme with a gift of four kilograms of AgAIN silver bullion, which is made from reclaimed silver from medical X-ray films.

The 10 recipients of the 2025 Emerging Business Bursary will each receive a gift of 400 grams of AgAIN silver bullion, made from reclaimed medical x-ray films, along with a 15% discount on tools.

The Emerging Business Bursary (EBB), launched in 2024, reimagines the Fair’s longstanding support for early career makers in recognition of the different routes that lead craftspeople into the trade.

The 2025 Emerging Business Bursaries have been awarded to Monica Findlay, Lucy Anderson, Isabella Bedlington, Wenyin Jiang, Liu Yang, Alice Biolo, Emma Lawrence, Francisca Onumah, Alewijn Slingerland and Gillian Finlay.

Harriet Scott, head of Goldsmiths’ Fair, said: “Goldsmiths’ Fair has proudly supported early career makers through bursary schemes since the year 2000. Whilst establishing yourself as an independent craftsperson has never been easy, over the last 25 years the rising costs of equipment, energy, materials, rates and rents, combined with record high prices for precious metals, have made it more challenging than ever before.

“Through this partnership with The Betts Group, and their generous gift of four kilograms of AgAIN silver bullion, the 10 recipients our 2025 Emerging Business Bursary are receiving a comprehensive package of support that will help them to have the first of many fantastic years exhibiting at Goldsmiths’ Fair.”

Charlie Betts, managing director of The Betts Group, added: “We’re thrilled to partner with Goldsmiths’ Fair in support of early career makers through the 2025 Emerging Business Bursary.

“The future of our trade relies on transparency and sustainability, and the 400 grams of AgAIN silver bullion that each of the bursary recipients will receive sets them on a course to make positive choices about their practice and its impact on the environment.”

The partnership marks a further step in Kit Heath’s expansion, bringing its sterling silver jewellery collections into T.H. Baker’s curated brand portfolio.

The jeweller has traded in the UK for over 135 years and is known for its selection of high-end and contemporary jewellery.

According to Kit Heath, the new listing reinforces its position in the UK retail jewellery market, crediting the growth to strong sell-through rates and design-led collections.

The news comes after Kith Heath announced that it plans to launch its new Océane collection inspired by ocean forms in autumn.

The Océane collection, which features 15 pieces, is split into two sub-ranges: Echo and Wave.

Echo includes “bolder” silhouettes, such as rounded, tactile pendants designed to be appreciated from all angles.

Meanwhile, Wave emphasises “soft” contours and “balanced” lines, intended to “evoke the quiet rhythm of the sea”.

Katie Nickell, co-owner and creative director at Kit Heath, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with T.H. Baker and to see our brand aligned with such a heritage name in UK jewellery. Their reputation for quality and customer service is second to none, and we’re excited about the opportunity this brings for both businesses.”

The collection, which was developed under the creative direction of Aurore Melot and company founder Thomas Sabo, is inspired by ancient landscapes and classical symbolism, with designs that reference strength, freedom and timelessness.

Central to the collection is the Elyndra horse motif, which the brand describes as a symbol of “freedom, strength and courage”.

It also features protective eye designs representing intuition and foresight. Other pieces include hand chains, gemstone bracelets, adjustable necklaces and sculptural earrings.

Elyndra uses recycled 925 silver and some pieces are finished with 18k gold plating. The line incorporates a range of stones, including tiger’s eye, green aventurine, red agate and yellow jasper.

Additional accents come from turquoise, cubic zirconia and coloured stones in garnet red, white and emerald green.

Described by the brand as embodying “inner strength, timeless taste and femininity”, the new line features individually designed pieces with “distinctive” silhouettes.

These include filigree hand chains, double-row gemstones, necklaces with sliding clasps and decorative earrings.

A new packaging concept will also launch alongside the range, featuring a minimalist design in warm beige.

All items in the collection will be available from Thomas Sabo stores worldwide, online and through selected independent retailers.

Mappin and Webb is marking its 250th anniversary in 2025 with a year of exclusive launches and events, celebrating a legacy that began in 1775 when Jonathan Mappin opened a silverware workshop in Sheffield.

The group has created its own collection featuring floral designs from its archive, each piece set with 25 diamonds to represent 25 decades. Another range is crafted in 18ct yellow gold sourced from The Royal Mint.

To mark the anniversary, partner brands have also released limited-edition pieces: Roberto Coin has added to its Venetian Princess collection; Fope has introduced a sapphire version of its Prima bracelet; Marco Bicego has unveiled London blue topaz designs for its Lunaria line; and Fabergé will launch a one-of-a-kind egg object later in the year.

The brand, which holds Royal Warrants and serves as jewellers, goldsmiths and silversmiths to His Majesty The King, received a new Royal Warrant in May 2024.

Since 2012, two of the company’s master craftsmen, Martin Swift and Mark Appleby LVO, have served as crown jeweller, responsible for maintaining the crown jewels.

Mappin and Webb’s recent collections have also included pieces developed under the Crown Jeweller’s oversight.

The brand operates a London Jewellery Workshop and a Silver Workshop in Greater London, providing repair, restoration and bespoke services. The teams are involved in diverse projects, from mayoral regalia to Ascot trophies.

Additionally, Mappin and Webb supports charitable initiatives including the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust and The King’s Trust.

It contributes a portion of sales from anniversary collections to support The King’s Trust’s Change A Girl’s Life campaign.

A new flagship showroom in Manchester is set to open in 2025, featuring a De Beers boutique and becoming the only David Yurman stockist in the UK outside of London.

Karl Bailey, senior manager of Mappin and Webb Regent Street, said: “It is our great pleasure that in May 2024 we received the Royal Warrant to His Majesty The King as Jewellers, Goldsmiths, and Silversmiths.

“As a grantee of a Royal Warrant, it signifies and reinforces our exemplary service, quality, and excellence of the highest calibre.”

Craig Bolton, president of the Watches of Switzerland Group, added: “We are thrilled to be celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Mappin and Webb, and to be working with such esteemed jewellery partners to do so is a reflection of the incredible heritage of this renowned British brand.”

The Cove collection marks what the company describes as its first fully traceable jewellery range.

It includes necklaces, bracelets and an earring made with handmade Larvikite beads and sterling silver elements.

The stone, which is recognised as Norway’s national stone, is supplied by Lundh’s quarries and certified to provide full transparency across the supply chain.

All metal components are produced from certified recycled materials, which the company claims cut the environmental impact by more than 90% compared with virgin metals.

The launch also includes updated versions of Tom Wood’s signet rings, now set with a new variety of Larvikite in a near-black tone with inclusions of blue sapphire.

Mona Jensen, founder and creative director, said: “We are proud to present our first 100% traceable collection, a milestone that embodies our dedication to transparency and responsibility. Being a brand of purpose affects everything we do, it sets direction for the products we create, our ways of working, the spaces we build and the people we work with.

“To know where everything comes from and who was involved all the way until the finished product is a quite unusual thing in a tradition based and conservative industry. We would like to forge new standards for responsibility and hope to inspire others to do the same.”

Hilton, who co-founded the brand with a team of experienced jewellery entrepreneurs, said the range was designed to celebrate “love, joy, family and individuality” through customisable pieces including necklaces, bracelets and charms.

Named after her daughters Theodora and Lily-Grace, Theo Grace offers gold and silver designs that can be engraved with names, dates or photographs.

The collection is aimed at a wide age range and is intended as both self-purchase and gifting jewellery.

The brand will offer capsule collections throughout the year, with Hilton contributing to the creative direction and design.

Hilton said: “I had long dreamed of creating a jewelry brand rooted in personalization and the emotional power of connection and love. Gifting is part of who I am – I’m always looking for meaningful, creative ways to show love and gratitude to the people in my life, whether it’s for big milestones or everyday moments: my kids, my family, my friends.

“I hope everyone can find that special gift that says ‘I love you’, ‘Thank you’, ‘Congratulations’, or any heartfelt message – with depth and individuality. I truly believe in the magic of gifting and doing it on your own terms.”

The Zennor collection features ocean-themed designs made from recycled sterling silver and ethically sourced materials.

The range is named after the Cornish village of Zennor, long associated with legends of mermaids.

The brand describes the line as part of its “jewellery for the sea dreamers and coastal wanderers” philosophy.

Founded by former NHS Children’s Heart Transplant Specialist Jade, Dainty London has evolved into a distinguished British jewellery brand specialising in sustainable, handmade jewellery.

Jade Beer, founder and director of Dainty London, said: “Growing up in Cornwall with a father who was a fisherman, I was raised on tales of mermaids and sea magic. The Zennor collection isn’t just jewellery – it’s wearable storytelling that connects women to their inner sea goddess while honouring our coastal heritage.”

F.Hinds has shared the success of its official launch of the Dementia UK Collection, an initiative created to support Dementia UK and the crucial work of its dementia specialist admiral nurses.

The exclusive collection, featuring a stunning Silver and Diamond Heart Locket (RRP £69.99) and Dementia pin badges, is available across all F.Hinds branches nationwide after being launched in line with Dementia Action Week in May.

The brand revealed that 100% of profits from the collection are being donated directly to the Dementia UK, the specialist dementia nursing charity.

To mark the launch, F.Hinds welcomed Dementia UK representatives to its Ashford branch, providing customers with the opportunity to learn more about the charity’s admiral nurses, Helpline and other services.

The Ashford store, and other stores around the country, also got involved in hosting a charitable raffle for the chance to win fantastic prizes such as jewellery pieces and gift vouchers. So far, the initiative has raised a total of £3,500 to support Dementia UK and its work.

Joanna Sullivan, deputy director of fundraising at Dementia UK, said: “We’re grateful to the team at F.Hinds for their fundraising efforts, and have been impressed with the passion and creativity they have brought to the partnership to create this collection.

“We have already seen the partnership raise both funds for our dementia specialist admiral nurses and awareness for the condition itself, and look forward to working with F.Hinds over the next three years to help support as many people as possible.”

Natasha House, marketing manager at F.Hinds, added: “Our customers have shown incredible support for the F.Hinds Dementia UK Collection, and we are thrilled that everyone is enjoying it as much as we are. The success of this launch reflects the compassion and generosity of our communities. We’re proud to stand with Dementia UK and help raise awareness and funds for such a vital service.”
