London-based jeweller Lily Gabriella Fine Jewellery has secured accreditation from the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ), the UK’s trade body for ethical and quality standards in the industry.

The company has also joined the NAJ’s Created in the UK scheme, which recognises jewellers committed to British design and craftsmanship.

Founder and designer Lily Gabriella Elia launched the brand in 2015 after working in the jewellery department at Christie’s in Geneva.

A graduate in fine arts from Brandeis University in Boston, she later qualified as a gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York.

Born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Monaco, Gabriella draws on a multicultural background and a family history steeped in art and jewellery collecting. She cites her grandmother’s jewellery collection as a formative influence.

Her designs are noted for their “sculptural forms and bold use” of colour. The Spira ring, a coiled gold piece, has become her signature.

In 2019, Gabriella collaborated with Sotheby’s Diamonds on a collection that reinterpreted high jewellery in her “graphic, modernist style”.

Lily Gabriella said: “These accreditations are more than just symbols: they reaffirm our unwavering promise to craft jewellery that is as meaningful as it is beautifully made, pieces designed to be cherished for generations.”

Tiffany and Co. has unveiled a new collaboration with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham, comprising a limited-edition bronze sculpture and a bespoke jewellery piece.

The Bronze Eroded Penny Vessel – a patinated bronze sculpture embedded with polished crystal – contains a reimagined version of the brand’s HardWear necklace. Only 39 of the handcrafted works have been produced, each made at Arsham Studio in New York.

The necklace, made from 18-carat white gold, is set with more than 1,000 diamonds and over 500 tsavorites. It draws from a 1971 design in Tiffany’s archive and reflects Arsham’s signature “future relic” concept.

The vessel takes inspiration from Arsham’s 2013 work Study of the Eroded Penny and Tiffany’s 1885 redesign of the Great Seal of the United States. The penny motif is described as a “symbol of luck and transformation, fusing historical references with modern craftsmanship”.

Each piece is delivered in a Tiffany Blue art-handling crate, accompanied by a matching blue box containing dual-branded white gloves.

Arsham said: “My work explores the idea of history as a living, evolving entity, and Tiffany and Co. shares that same reverence for craftsmanship and heritage.

“This collaboration has allowed me to push my ‘future relics’ concept even further, transforming an iconic symbol into something completely new. I’m incredibly grateful to Tiffany and Co. for embracing this vision.”

Bradley’s Jewellers York has unveiled new additions to its in-house designed and British-made York Rose collection.

Highlights include the York Rose Brontë ring, featuring a diamond-set Yorkshire Rose in full bloom in 18ct rose gold, 18ct yellow gold or platinum.

The name was purposefully chosen by Bradley’s Jewellers York owner, Kay Bradley, to celebrate the incredible achievements of Yorkshire’s most famed female writers, Charlotte, Anne and Emily Brontë.

The collection has also been updated with a new gentleman’s signet ring that is custom-engraved with a Yorkshire Rose and crafted in either yellow, white or rose gold.

The collection also includes the York Rose Tiara, set with more than 1,000 fancy-cut diamonds weighing upwards of 10 carats in recycled 9ct white gold.

The York Rose Tiara will soon form part of The Seasons, a unique series of four tiaras that celebrate Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter in Yorkshire.

The first to be launched represents the Summer, while a soon-to-be-revealed York Daffodil Tiara will pay homage to the optimism and renewal of the spring months.

A third piece, the Rainbow Hope Tiara, will recognise autumn as a time of harvest, abundance and accomplishment in vibrant coloured gemstones.

The York Rose collection was first unveiled in 2022 as a tribute to Kay Bradley’s personal and professional home.

Bradley said: “As a business, we pride ourselves on always reaching for the next jewellery milestone. Introducing a Yorkshire-inspired tiara seemed like the most sensational and opulent next step. These special items are often found in private collections as treasured heirlooms, so I wanted to create something similar not only for Bradley’s Jewellers York but for the whole of Yorkshire.

“I feel strongly that as an independent jeweller, we should always be surprising our customers with something new, different and inspiring. We’ve updated the York Rose collection with new pieces, but I don’t think any of our loyal collectors anticipated a tiara was in the works.”

Independent jewellery retailer Bradley’s Jewellers York has announced the launch of its new ‘Something Blue’ collection, accompanied by a blue floral exterior display in celebration of the theme.

Inspired by the age-old phrase “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” Bradley’s Jewellers York has created a capsule collection of blue gemstone jewellery for brides-to-be.

Highlights include sky blue aquamarine and diamond cocktail rings, trilogy rings, sapphire-studded lockets, and earrings and pendants set with topaz and sapphires.

Bradley’s Jewellers York is also well-known for its floral displays, often encouraging customers to ‘follow the flowers’ when searching for the store on Low Petergate.

For the summer season, the business has committed to a blue theme with meaningful arrangements that mirror the themes of “love and commitment found in bridal jewellery”.

For example, hydrangeas were chosen to symbolise “heartfelt emotion”, while delphiniums were selected to represent “open hearts, cheerfulness and goodwill”.

Bradley’s Jewellers York specialises in engagement rings, wedding bands, eternities, and bridal jewellery, including a vast selection of pearls, coloured gemstone jewellery and a bespoke design service.

The retailer has also opted to return to in-person wedding fairs and events in 2025 after witnessing a sharp rise in bespoke bridal appointments among couples looking for more tailored experiences.

Kay Bradley, Bradley’s Jewellers York owner, said: “Traditionally, ‘something blue’ is worn by a bride on her wedding day as a symbol of love, purity and fidelity. Although this blue item can be anything, we think a precious piece of fine jewellery is the most timeless way to go, especially as it can be passed down as an heirloom for the next generation. When we debuted this collection at The Northern Wedding Show in Newcastle in March, it proved hugely popular, and that gave us the confidence to go ‘all out’ with our exterior displays too.

“Florals are one of my greatest sources of inspiration when designing new collections, which is evident in our York Rose, York Daffodil, Rainbow Daisy, and Arts & Crafts collections. Having such a vibrant display on the exterior of our Grade II Listed, 500-year-old storefront is a real talking point and helps to highlight what customers will find inside.”

The new design is a scaled down take on Aaron’s original Everything Box. She is known for her lock and carabiner inspired creations.

The piece is available in five vegan leather colourways; burgundy, pink, navy, red and celadon. Each box features a vegan leather exterior, signature detailing, soft Ultrasuede lining with Wolf’s patented LusterLoc technology.

Bradley’s Jewellers York has made a return to wedding fairs in 2025, participating in two events throughout the month of March.

Alongside this, the company has been hosting a consumer-facing competition to win a laboratory-grown diamond engagement ring.

The Bradley’s Jewellers York team first appeared at The UK Wedding Event at York Racecourse on Sunday 9 March.

The event provided the perfect platform to showcase the retailer’s wide selection of wedding rings, natural diamond engagement rings, pearl jewellery and laboratory-grown diamond jewellery.

Next, the team travelled to Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on the weekend of March 22-23 for The Northern Wedding show, which welcomed more than 3,000 prospective buyers.

At this event Bradley’s created a dedicated and fully transactional pop-up store, complete with a pearl jewellery counter, a ‘Something Blue’ display with London blue topaz and aquamarine jewels, and a large selection of wedding rings by a range of British suppliers.

Owner Kay Bradley worked with organisers to host a competition for all attendees to win an Eco Rocks Toi et Moi laboratory-grown diamond ring in platinum, worth £3,000.

The winner, chosen randomly from more than 1,000 entries, was formally unveiled by Geordie television personality and wedding influencer, Vicky Pattison.

Bradley said: “We haven’t participated in large-scale wedding shows for a long time, but 2025 is the year I want to change all that and focus on our incredibly diverse bridal and wedding jewellery collections, which are the strongest they have ever been.

“I have always believed in taking a proactive approach to achieve our strategic objectives, and this includes working with third parties who can help us bolster brand awareness and meet new prospective clients.”

She added: “I am thrilled by the performance of both events, but especially The Northern Wedding Show, which gave us access to Vicky Pattinson – undoubtedly one of the UK’s biggest wedding influencers right now.

“I gifted Vicky a pair of laboratory-grown diamond stud earrings worth £3,000 as a thank-you for announcing the competition winner. She wore them for the whole weekend, which was a wonderful boost!”

Bradley’s Jewellers is celebrating the successful running of its competition in conjunction with the York Ice Trail which saw 1,430 entries to win a prize.

The prize was a York Daffodil pendant and chain in sterling silver, worth £1,000, frozen in place in an ice sculpture.

The business’ life-sized ice sculpture featured yellow petals and an orange centre with icy facets to mimic the shape of cut sapphires.

The winner, Sarah Gabbatiss from York, was chosen at random on February 4 and was contacted directly by the Bradley’s Jewellers team.

All other entrants will now receive a money-off voucher, entitling them to a £100 discount on qualifying items with an RRP over £595 until March 31, 2025.

Kay Bradley, owner, said: “We have participated in the York Ice Trail for more than a decade, and it is undoubtedly one of the best customer-facing events our city has to offer. As a business owner, it is an unmissable opportunity to meet local residents, engage new customers, and participate in something that’s full of personality and charm.

“The York Ice Trail is the perfect start to the year, allowing us to surprise and delight our customers, entice new shoppers, build our mailing list, and tempt people to return for Valentine’s and Mother’s Day purchases. It would be great to see more businesses participate in 2026 to make the High Street a positive place to be for families.”

The York Daffodil collection, first unveiled in 2022, is crafted in sterling silver, 9ct and 18ct gold and set with pear-shaped yellow sapphires, round brilliant-cut orange sapphires, and pear-shaped citrines.

The collection was designed by Kay Bradley to celebrate the yellow daffodils that bloom around York Minster in springtime.

Berry’s Jewellers has agreed to be the headline sponsor for the Willow Burn Hospice Diamonds and Pearls Ball in March 2024.

As a main sponsor, the Newcastle branch of Berry’s Jewellers has donated the main prize for the raffle by gifting the hospice an 18ct White Gold Baguette and Round Brilliant Cut Diamond Square Halo Pendant worth £3000.

Store manager, David Nicholson and Berry’s Jewellers Newcastle have been supporters of the hospice for many years, raising in excess of £17,000 through a diamond raffle and a charity golf day in partnership with Aston Martin Newcastle at Close House.

Berry’s Jewellers are an independent, family-owned jewellers with branches across the UK in Newcastle, Leeds, York, Nottingham, Hull and Windsor.

Nicholson said: “Willow Burn Hospice is a charity close to the hearts of our family after the amazing care and support my late mother Ann Johnson received there during her illness. We couldn’t speak more highly of the wonderful nurses and wider team at the hospice to make her last days as comfortable as possible, and that is why we’re so keen to support the great work they provide across Derwentside.

“Berry’s is delighted to be again sponsoring the hospice’s fundraising ball as a way of saying thank you and ensuring that many more people can receive the personal touch the caring nursing staff provided to my mum.”

He added: “Our diamond necklaces are popular products in our Newcastle store and we’re pleased to be offering it as a special prize in the raffle – so buy your tickets to avoid missing out. Willow Burn Hospice was officially opened 35 years ago by HRH The Duchess of Kent after Valerie Davison and Irene Mortimer founded the charity.”

Rachel Quince, the hospice’s deputy chief executive and head of Fundraising and Marketing, concluded: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Berry’s Jewellers and the team at the Newcastle store. Their dedication to not only raising funds but also awareness of hospice care, makes an incredible difference to our patients and their families, at a time when they need care and support the most.

“Last year’s ball raised over £25,000, which has funded 10 full days of in-patient care at Willow Burn, and this certainly wouldn’t have been possible without sponsors like Berry’s.”

Independent jewellery business Bradley’s Jewellers is set to install a six-foot-tall ice sculpture on Low Petergate inspired by its York Daffodil collection.

Taking place on 1-2 February 2025, the York Ice Trail consists of a series of elaborate ice sculptures positioned around the historic city centre of York. Bradley’s Jewellers has participated in this initiative for more than a decade and has hosted various competitions to drive footfall and engagement with the event.

In 2025, Bradley’s Jewellers will add to the Ice Trail line-up with a six-foot-tall ice sculpture inspired by its best-selling York Daffodil collection, which was first unveiled in 2022. The range, crafted in sterling silver, 9ct and 18ct yellow gold, features pear-shaped yellow sapphires, round brilliant-cut orange sapphires, and pear-shaped citrines with millgrain detailing to capture the shape and colours of daffodils in bloom.

The collection was designed by Bradley’s Jewellers York owner Kay Bradley to celebrate the plethora of yellow daffodils that bloom around York Minster in springtime, kickstarting what is now a long line of Yorkshire-themed, British-made fine jewellery ranges for the business.

The Bradley’s Jewellers York Daffodil Ice Sculpture will be placed just outside the entrance to the business’ Grade II Listed jewellery boutique on Low Petergate. Its shape and decorative details are all inspired by the York Daffodil pendant in 18k yellow gold, including the sparkling facets of its pear-shaped and round brilliant-cut sapphires.

In keeping with previous years, Bradley’s Jewellers will also host a York Ice Trail competition on its website and social media channels, giving its customers, local shoppers and visiting tourists the chance to win a special piece of jewellery frozen at the heart of the ice sculpture. The retailer has chosen a York Daffodil pendant with yellow and orange sapphires in sterling silver as its 2025 competition prize, complete with a complimentary chain. The total cost of the prize exceeds £1,000.

Bradley said: “Our life-sized ice sculpture focused on laboratory-grown diamonds in 2023
and the impending launch of the Fabergé x Bradley’s Jewellers Christmas Robin Egg Surprise Locket Pendant in 2024, so I wanted to do something different for 2025. The York Daffodil collection has been a consistent best-seller and a popular choice for Yorkshire brides, so it made sense to share its message of optimism, hope and renewal in icy form this February.

“In 2024, we gave one lucky customer the chance to win a mystery loose gemstone, which we then crafted into a piece of bespoke fine jewellery. We worked with the eventual winner to produce a stunning emerald-cut aquamarine trilogy ring in platinum, which was perfectly finished with personalised engraving on the interior surfaces. In 2023, we presented a one-carat laboratory-grown solitaire ring from the York Rose collection after receiving more than 1,000 entries! The York Ice Trail is an event we would never want to miss.”
